Navi Mumbai Police Inspector Subhash Pujari Wins Two Gold Medals at World Police and Fire Games 2025
Mumbai, July 2025 — Navi Mumbai's pride, Police Inspector Subhash Pujari, has brought home double gold from the World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Competing against participants from over 76 countries, Pujari clinched two gold medals in the Bodybuilding (172 cm height category) and Men’s Physique categories, showcasing not only physical excellence but also exceptional dedication.
Joining Pujari on the winner’s podium was Randeep Datta, a retired Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who bagged a bronze medal in Tennis Doubles. Datta previously served as Inspector General of CRPF’s Western Sector in Mumbai before his promotion and eventual retirement in Delhi.
From Constable to Champion
Pujari’s fitness journey began back in 1995, right after completing his Class XII exams. “Hitting the gym became a passion and soon turned into a lifestyle. I haven’t missed a day of training since,” shared Pujari. His unwavering discipline led him from joining the Maharashtra Police as a constable in 2003 to becoming the captain of the Maharashtra Police Bodybuilding Team.
When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down public gyms, Pujari didn’t let that stop his progress. He invested in fitness equipment and built a home gym in Khanda Colony, Navi Mumbai, continuing his rigorous training regimen.
To prepare for this year’s international competition, Pujari followed a six-hour daily workout plan, coached by Olympia winner Sunit Jadhav. His outstanding performance on the global stage is a testament to his relentless determination, passion, and discipline.
A Strong Support System Behind the Glory
Inspector Pujari acknowledged the strong support from senior police officials and credited much of his success to the encouragement he received from his family, especially his wife, Ragini Pujari, who stood firmly by his side throughout his preparation journey.
Recognizing Excellence in Service and Sports
Apart from his sporting achievements, Randeep Datta is also well-regarded for his impactful service in anti-Naxal operations during his tenure. His sporting success at an international level adds to his legacy as a disciplined officer and sportsman.
